Joseph M Kurtenbach (that would be me) has been involved in a variety of different occupations. He has an airplane and helicopter pilot’s license that he’s never put to any good use in thirty years (not for the lack of trying), has worked in surveying & drafting, construction, truck driving, airport security, zoo keeping, laboratory technology and information technology. He has Associate Degrees in Veterinary Technology and Computer Information Systems. He’s not sure, but he may have forgotten a career or two in there. Oh, and he holds a U.S. Patent for a type of modular bookshelves he calls “Bookables.”
Joe started writing in his early twenties after discovering a love of fantasy fiction, and also perhaps because it was the closest thing he could find to the high he got from flying. He’s been writing off and on ever since, when he can keep his wandering interests focused on the true magic of creating stories.
Joe currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska, in his sister’s basement, with his dog and two birds. That’s a long story in itself, which he talks about sometimes in his blog. Joe is currently working on his fantasy novel, The Two Staves.
